Love Yourself and Help Others
You have love yourself before you go out to be there
with other people. I asked myself, “What do you want to do?”
Some people say, “I hate myself. I’m stupid. I can’t
do this or that.” Don’t do that anymore. The answer is to look at yourself in
the mirror. I feel better because I know
that God made me that way when I was born so it is OK. Even if you don’t
believe in God, I can tell you, “Don’t cut yourself down. Everybody has special
things about themselves. The world needs each person and each person helps make
the world the way it supposed to be.”
When you look at yourself, say, “I do love myself. I’m
not stupid. I can do things and I can show people that I can do things.” If you
keep cut yourself down, you stay in the apartment, sit on the couch and watch
TV. You don’t want to get up and do things because you think, “I can’t do
that.”
Don’t lock yourself inside of yourself. It is like
trying to burying yourself in a hole and hide. This makes your feel more
miserable. That is why you need to find who you are and why you are here on
this earth. Say, “Yes, I can.”
People say negative things about black people and
about people with disabilities. It is the same thing because people
discriminate against black people and against the people with disabilities.
I’m here to help people. It doesn’t matter who you are
or if you have a disability. Just help yourself first and then help other
people. For me, I tell people I am here to help people understand about
disability. <Back Next>
